there is a new ruling on prohibtion. you can now discard the declared card as a cost.

does snipe hunter work against prime material dragon since its not an automatic kill
muffinman3115 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Dale couldn't have discarded beastie cause it was prohibed. And no you cant discard it even for a cost, it cant be used in any way of benefit. The only way to lose a card that has been prohibed while the prohib is on the field, is for the card to be forced to discard, like morphing jar or Thestalos.

i mean it only says on prohibition "both players cannot play the declared card" and your just sending it to the grave w/out it hitting it to the field. you would think that right?

Yea, it got ruled next to me at a Portland regional, and they printed off the info when it was appealed. It was news to me, too. |
