recorded live in Los Angeles, August 2006. Sloan's new album "Sailover" is available on Hightone Records at hightone.com. Video by Infostructures.net. Show produced by WesternBeat.com. In 1965, PF Sloan's heartfelt song "Eve of Destruction," performed by Barry McGuire, became a Billboard number one hit. The anti-war anthem was one of the first protest songs to make the pop charts. It became the rallying cry for supporters of the 26th Amendment to the Constitution, which changed the voting age from 21 to 18. Sloan wrote a string of hits in the '60s, including "Secret Agent Man" (recorded by Johnny Rivers), "You Baby" (The Turtles) and "Where Were You When I Needed You" (The Grassroots). - excerpt from the NPR radio program on PF Sloan.

When we outed a popular government in Iran and then installed the Shah, there was anger, there was retaliation. When we built a military base on Muslim holy ground in Saudi Arabia, there was anger, there was retaliation. When we give billions of dollars to the Israeli government's military which is used largely to kill Muslims, there is anger, there is retaliation. Blowback. If you disagree with me then invite China to build a base in D.C. Common Sense. Do unto others.....

I believe you are generalizing a bit. Oh and ruining the song's lyrics by turning it into something it's not. :)

hey it WAS an era wether we liked the way we lived it, or who we were in it, or what happened to us in it, it must be something to be remembered because alot of civil liberties did come about because of all those people who did wine moan groan complain protest OPENED THEIR MOUTHES AND DID A F****** THING ABOOUT IT. I'm sorry but people are like cattle and will be led off to slaughter if not taught to think different or openly opinionate. My utmost respect to your husband my family has vets too

Well, good for you. Did you go to Vietnam? I doubt you have memories of that "war". My husband does and he doesn't like them...but he dealt with them gracefully w/ 3 Purple Hearts. You were there for "the war"? Pleaseeeeeeeee. If you weren't in Nam, dude you weren't there. By the way, hubby hates war and hates his memories...but he was drafted. Where did you go?

What's up with the FISA vote? Why do Dems keep covering crimes of the Republicans? We need another 60s style awakening!

Funny? when you listen to the words of this song then read the angry hateful posts... Think about that...

Wow, I'm glad we have such a genius like you to tell us who we should like. Only problem is that I like Mcquire's version best, but I also like Dylan and Cohen, and I can't stand American Idol. I bet that really confuses you... you idiot.
